Timber windows in Flitwick
Window Replacement is one of those jobs in Flitwick where the survey decides everything. You are mostly dealing with Victorian hat-trade terraces, chalk-belt cottages and large modern estates around here, so openings vary more than people expect. With dry inland conditions with cold winter frost pockets in the mix, frost damage to end grain and paint cracking on older softwood units is a question of when rather than whether. The detail we will not compromise on is swapping units without wrecking the reveals and the decoration.
Nothing goes into manufacture until a surveyor has checked each opening on site. Photographs and approximate sizes are all we need to start.
Worth knowing locally: Bedfordshire stock is dominated by repair and upgrade rather than heritage matching.

How long does a typical order take?
Most made-to-size orders run six to ten weeks from survey to delivery. Conservation and heavily detailed work can take longer, and we confirm the lead time in writing at quotation rather than leaving it open.
Do you take a deposit?
Not before the measured survey. A deposit is only requested once the survey is complete and you have approved the final schedule and price.
What if the opening is out of square?
Most older openings are. The survey records the actual dimensions at several points and the unit is manufactured to suit, which is the main reason we survey rather than work from the sizes given over the phone.
What guarantee do you provide?
Ten years on workmanship, covering manufacture and the factory-applied finish. Where we install, the installation is covered too. It is issued in writing with the handover paperwork.
Can you price from drawings?
Yes. Send a drawing set or a schedule and we will price against it. If anything is ambiguous we will query it before quoting rather than assume and reprice later.
