Timber windows in Datchet
Ask three firms about Sash Windows in Datchet and you will get three different answers. The building stock is Thames-side villas, Victorian terraces and dense 1980s commercial fit-out stock, so we expect variation before we ever pick up a tape. With river humidity and localised flood exposure in the mix, swelling and binding on ground-floor doors after flood or high water table events is a question of when rather than whether. Where we put the effort is sliding sashes that run smoothly and hold position without slamming.
We check on site before committing anything to the saw, and we query what does not add up. Ask us for a figure and you will get one, with the lead time stated alongside it.
One local point to factor in: flood-zone properties benefit from raised thresholds and marine-grade fixings.

Can you match an existing profile?
Yes. If you can supply a section, a photograph with a rule in shot, or an old unit, we can replicate the profile. For conservation work this is usually the condition the planning officer will apply.
What guarantee do you provide?
Ten years on workmanship, covering manufacture and the factory-applied finish. Where we install, the installation is covered too. It is issued in writing with the handover paperwork.
How do you handle glazing?
Standard double glazed units for most work, and slim-cavity units where a conservation officer has restricted sightlines. Single glazing with putty lines is available where the consent requires it.
Can you price from drawings?
Yes. Send a drawing set or a schedule and we will price against it. If anything is ambiguous we will query it before quoting rather than assume and reprice later.
Do you work in hardwood or softwood?
Both. Engineered hardwood is the default where movement or exposure is a concern, and slow-grown softwood is often the better value choice for painted work in sheltered positions. We will tell you which we would specify and why.
