Timber windows in Newquay

The Flush Casement Windows we make for Newquay is set out from a survey, not a size chart. You will find mostly granite fishermen's cottages, slate-hung terraces and modern coastal builds in this area, and it moves as it ages. Add the most severe salt and wind exposure in England to that and accelerated coating failure and salt crystallisation damage at glazing lines becomes the usual trigger for replacement. The part that matters is the flush face period properties need and stormproof units cannot give.

Nothing is ordered until someone has stood in front of the opening with a tape. Tell us what you are working with and we will put a fixed figure in writing.

Something particular to this area: Cornish exposure grades mean specification should assume worst-case wind-driven rain.

Newquay questions

Do you work in hardwood or softwood?

Both. Engineered hardwood is the default where movement or exposure is a concern, and slow-grown softwood is often the better value choice for painted work in sheltered positions. We will tell you which we would specify and why.

Is the timber certified?

All our stock is FSC certified and chain-of-custody documentation is supplied with the order, which most main contractors and specifiers now require for their records.

What guarantee do you provide?

Ten years on workmanship, covering manufacture and the factory-applied finish. Where we install, the installation is covered too. It is issued in writing with the handover paperwork.

Can you work on a listed building?

Yes, and a significant share of our work is listed or conservation area. We can supply drawings and section details to support a listed building consent or planning application, though the consent itself remains the owner's responsibility.

Will the finish need maintaining?

A factory-applied microporous finish typically needs inspection every three to five years, sooner on exposed coastal elevations. Maintaining it is far cheaper than letting a coating fail and the timber take up water.
