What we see in Lincolnshire

Sash Windows across Lincolnshire tends to be driven by the condition of what is already there. Local stock is dominated by Georgian Stamford limestone, fenland farmhouses and coastal resort bungalows, which sets the sizes and profiles we work to. low rainfall with severe exposed easterly wind off the North Sea sets the pace of decay, and wind-driven rain ingress and sand abrasion on coastal finishes is how it shows up first. Everything we do here comes back to sliding sashes that run smoothly and hold position without slamming.

Every job is measured on site first, because drawn sizes and built sizes are seldom the same. Photographs and approximate sizes are all we need to start.

One local point to factor in: Stamford is one of England's most tightly controlled conservation towns.

Lincolnshire questions

Do you cover Lincolnshire?

Yes. We cover the whole of Lincolnshire including Lincoln, Grimsby, Scunthorpe, Boston and the surrounding villages. Stamford is one of England's most tightly controlled conservation towns. Because low rainfall with severe exposed easterly wind off the North Sea, we allow for it at survey stage rather than discovering it on the day.

Can you work on a listed building?

Yes, and a significant share of our work is listed or conservation area. We can supply drawings and section details to support a listed building consent or planning application, though the consent itself remains the owner's responsibility.

How long does a typical order take?

Most made-to-size orders run six to ten weeks from survey to delivery. Conservation and heavily detailed work can take longer, and we confirm the lead time in writing at quotation rather than leaving it open.

Do you take a deposit?

Not before the measured survey. A deposit is only requested once the survey is complete and you have approved the final schedule and price.

What if the opening is out of square?

Most older openings are. The survey records the actual dimensions at several points and the unit is manufactured to suit, which is the main reason we survey rather than work from the sizes given over the phone.

What guarantee do you provide?

Ten years on workmanship, covering manufacture and the factory-applied finish. Where we install, the installation is covered too. It is issued in writing with the handover paperwork.
