Timber windows in Burntwood

Casement Windows in Burntwood is rarely a catalogue job. Around here it is pottery-era terraces, estate cottages and moorland stone housing, and that alone rules out anything bought by the pallet. cold upland exposure in the Moorlands and damp valley air in the Potteries is the local complication, and sill and cill decay where render meets timber on unventilated details is what it eventually causes. The value is in casements set out so the opening lights land where you actually want them, not in the timber bill.

A surveyor visits first and records the real dimensions, at several points on each opening. Get in touch and we will be straight with you about cost and timescale.

One local point to factor in: moorland properties need heavier sections than lowland equivalents.

Burntwood questions

Do you fit, or supply only?

Both. Supply-only is common for trade and contractor clients. For private clients we usually recommend supply and fit, because responsibility for the fit and the finish then sits in one place.

Will the finish need maintaining?

A factory-applied microporous finish typically needs inspection every three to five years, sooner on exposed coastal elevations. Maintaining it is far cheaper than letting a coating fail and the timber take up water.

Do you work in hardwood or softwood?

Both. Engineered hardwood is the default where movement or exposure is a concern, and slow-grown softwood is often the better value choice for painted work in sheltered positions. We will tell you which we would specify and why.

Do you take a deposit?

Not before the measured survey. A deposit is only requested once the survey is complete and you have approved the final schedule and price.

Can you price from drawings?

Yes. Send a drawing set or a schedule and we will price against it. If anything is ambiguous we will query it before quoting rather than assume and reprice later.
