Timber windows in Midhurst
Bay Windows in Midhurst is rarely a catalogue job. The housing here is largely Sussex flint cottages, Regency seafront terraces and postwar new town housing, and that shapes what will actually fit. strong coastal exposure with salt spray inland of the shoreline is the local complication, and finish erosion on seaward elevations within a few years of coating is what it eventually causes. The detail we will not compromise on is bays where the head carries load and the corner posts have to be right.
A surveyor visits first and records the real dimensions, at several points on each opening. A quick call or a photograph of the opening is usually enough to get you a price.
Something particular to this area: seafront properties need a shorter recoating cycle than inland equivalents.

How do you handle glazing?
Standard double glazed units for most work, and slim-cavity units where a conservation officer has restricted sightlines. Single glazing with putty lines is available where the consent requires it.
What guarantee do you provide?
Ten years on workmanship, covering manufacture and the factory-applied finish. Where we install, the installation is covered too. It is issued in writing with the handover paperwork.
Can you match an existing profile?
Yes. If you can supply a section, a photograph with a rule in shot, or an old unit, we can replicate the profile. For conservation work this is usually the condition the planning officer will apply.
What if the opening is out of square?
Most older openings are. The survey records the actual dimensions at several points and the unit is manufactured to suit, which is the main reason we survey rather than work from the sizes given over the phone.
Will the finish need maintaining?
A factory-applied microporous finish typically needs inspection every three to five years, sooner on exposed coastal elevations. Maintaining it is far cheaper than letting a coating fail and the timber take up water.
