Cottage Windows across Buckinghamshire
Most Cottage Windows enquiries we take in Buckinghamshire start with an opening that is not a standard size. Because the area is mainly Chiltern brick-and-flint cottages alongside large modern estates, no two openings measure quite the same. Because of chalk-valley damp with cold air pooling overnight, we see persistent condensation staining and cill rot on older single-glazed units more often here than in most of the country. In practice that means small-pane work where the glazing bar width decides whether it looks right.
Manufacture only starts once the survey figures are agreed with you in writing. Ask us for a figure and you will get one, with the lead time stated alongside it.
Worth knowing locally: AONB designation across much of the county tightens external alteration consent.

Frequently asked questions
Do you cover Buckinghamshire?
Yes. We cover the whole of Buckinghamshire including Milton Keynes, High Wycombe, Aylesbury, Amersham and the surrounding villages. AONB designation across much of the county tightens external alteration consent. Because chalk-valley damp with cold air pooling overnight, we allow for it at survey stage rather than discovering it on the day.
Can you price from drawings?
Yes. Send a drawing set or a schedule and we will price against it. If anything is ambiguous we will query it before quoting rather than assume and reprice later.
Will the finish need maintaining?
A factory-applied microporous finish typically needs inspection every three to five years, sooner on exposed coastal elevations. Maintaining it is far cheaper than letting a coating fail and the timber take up water.
Can you work on a listed building?
Yes, and a significant share of our work is listed or conservation area. We can supply drawings and section details to support a listed building consent or planning application, though the consent itself remains the owner's responsibility.
What guarantee do you provide?
Ten years on workmanship, covering manufacture and the factory-applied finish. Where we install, the installation is covered too. It is issued in writing with the handover paperwork.
