Fixed Light Windows across Norfolk
Most Fixed Light Windows enquiries we take in Norfolk start with an opening that is not a standard size. Because the area is mainly flint and pantile cottages, Georgian merchant houses and coastal resort stock, no two openings measure quite the same. The exposure here is exposed North Sea easterlies with salt-laden wind, which is exactly the condition that causes salt damage and finish erosion on east-facing coastal elevations. Where we put the effort is large fixed lights where glass weight drives the section size.
The measuring is done by the people responsible for the fit, which concentrates the mind. One call is usually enough for us to tell you roughly where the price will land.
Bear in mind for this area: flint walls give minimal reveal, so weathering detail carries the whole load.

Frequently asked questions
Do you cover Norfolk?
Yes. We cover the whole of Norfolk including Norwich, Great Yarmouth, King's Lynn, Thetford and the surrounding villages. Flint walls give minimal reveal, so weathering detail carries the whole load. Because exposed North Sea easterlies with salt-laden wind, we allow for it at survey stage rather than discovering it on the day.
What guarantee do you provide?
Ten years on workmanship, covering manufacture and the factory-applied finish. Where we install, the installation is covered too. It is issued in writing with the handover paperwork.
How do you handle glazing?
Standard double glazed units for most work, and slim-cavity units where a conservation officer has restricted sightlines. Single glazing with putty lines is available where the consent requires it.
Can you price from drawings?
Yes. Send a drawing set or a schedule and we will price against it. If anything is ambiguous we will query it before quoting rather than assume and reprice later.
Do you work in hardwood or softwood?
Both. Engineered hardwood is the default where movement or exposure is a concern, and slow-grown softwood is often the better value choice for painted work in sheltered positions. We will tell you which we would specify and why.
