What we see in West Sussex

People come to us about Sash Windows in West Sussex once the cheap option has already failed. You are mostly dealing with Sussex flint cottages, Regency seafront terraces and postwar new town housing around here, so openings vary more than people expect. Add strong coastal exposure with salt spray inland of the shoreline to that and finish erosion on seaward elevations within a few years of coating becomes the usual trigger for replacement. Our focus on this is sliding sashes that run smoothly and hold position without slamming.

We would rather spend an hour surveying than a week correcting. A quick call or a photograph of the opening is usually enough to get you a price.

A local consideration we always raise: seafront properties need a shorter recoating cycle than inland equivalents.

West Sussex questions

Do you cover West Sussex?

Yes. We cover the whole of West Sussex including Crawley, Worthing, Horsham, Bognor Regis and the surrounding villages. Seafront properties need a shorter recoating cycle than inland equivalents. Because strong coastal exposure with salt spray inland of the shoreline, we allow for it at survey stage rather than discovering it on the day.

What guarantee do you provide?

Ten years on workmanship, covering manufacture and the factory-applied finish. Where we install, the installation is covered too. It is issued in writing with the handover paperwork.

How long does a typical order take?

Most made-to-size orders run six to ten weeks from survey to delivery. Conservation and heavily detailed work can take longer, and we confirm the lead time in writing at quotation rather than leaving it open.

How do you handle glazing?

Standard double glazed units for most work, and slim-cavity units where a conservation officer has restricted sightlines. Single glazing with putty lines is available where the consent requires it.

Is the timber certified?

All our stock is FSC certified and chain-of-custody documentation is supplied with the order, which most main contractors and specifiers now require for their records.

Can you price from drawings?

Yes. Send a drawing set or a schedule and we will price against it. If anything is ambiguous we will query it before quoting rather than assume and reprice later.
